Few positions are harder to hang onto more then that of “First Place,” but such has been the rating “The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe” has maintained in the Inland Empire for so many years most local restaurant reviewers have probably lost track. It is also fair to guess that the restaurants employees have lost track of all of the different pizzas The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe offers… because the list is seemingly endless.

With creative pizza combinations like “Tony Bennoli,” “Ralphys” or “Wild Willy’s West Coast Express” they have fun with what they do along with making incredibly good Pizzas. Gourmet Pizza Shoppe also offer some pretty creative “Spicy South-West,” Seafood, Vegetarian and even Dessert combination pizzas… plus offering all of the “Standard” pizza combinations everyone else offers. The Wright Gourmet has enjoyed dining at “The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe” for almost 10 years now, since Bill Craw and his son opened the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe in 1998… before that the restaurant had been a Pizza Chalet.

Greetings Ed Wright; The Wright Gourmet is totally correct about The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe. The pizza is "The Best" only because all of the other pizza joints in the area compete on price alone and there really is no competition for "Number 1."

The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe staff can be stodgy with slow service, and all the weird pizzas are just that, weird! The restaurant is in an old nasty building and parking is impossible. We eat their pizza only because it is consistently OK; not the best, but better than the chain pizza dives. Very over rated!

Your recommendation about "AJ Barile’s Pizza" is on target; their pizza is "to die for" good, but the drive from Redlands to Yucaipa is a bit long to pick up pizza. The pizza is good at the old Shakey's if you can over look the low class crowd of noisy kids and poor service.

This is why everyone claims The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe is the best, not that their pizza is anything more than consistently OK, but over priced.

The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe is over rated. The pizza is good, but for the price it should be. They are expensive, and proud of it! The only reason this Pizza is rated so highly is because everyone else in Redlands serves such poor quality pizza.

The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe sells quality, and the pizza is good; it just seems like they charge too much for what you get, and when we are done eating leave feeling like we paid too much.

Pricing aside; the service is good, and the building clean but very old. They make the building look better with creative decorating and lots of colorful paint work. The tables are a bit uncomfortable with many being park bench type seating. Parking can be impossible.

There is a reason that the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe has been top rated in the Inland Empire for years, and that reason is that it makes the best pizza. The building may be a little old, but it is clean, the service outstanding and the pizzas consistently perfect.

I am not sure about all the hoopla about "Best Pizza" awards, because everyone knows that the pizza made for contests and served to food critics like "The Wright Gourmet" are pizzas made just for reviews or judging and not what is served over the counter when you order.

The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe does not play any of those stupid games to gain recognition, they just make the best pizza every time, for everyone. The prices may be a bit more, but you do get what you pay for plus a little more at the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe. I do not think anyone is as generous with the ingredients and toppings as the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe.

Try it once, and you will not be leaving Redlands to find pizza anywhere else.
