Teriyaki + Smoothies is a brand new little restaurant that I would have thought was much bigger based on the reviews and praises I had already received from my wife, in-laws, out-laws, friends and others; all asking “Have you tried “Teriyaki plus Smoothies” yet?” … They are incredible! Having done restaurant reviews for more than a few years now, I can’t honestly recall many restaurants friends had pushed me so hard or recommended so highly before in Yucaipa. I was impressed!
What you have to know about “Teriyaki plus Smoothies” is that it sits right between the Chevron and Arco Gas Stations just off of Yucaipa Blvd., as you first enter Yucaipa from the freeway, and that it is easy to drive right past. It is not that it is hard to find, it is just that traffic gets pretty congested in this area and you might be tempted to drive right on past; and if you do, you missed out! “The Wright Gourmet” agrees; “Teriyaki plus Smoothies” is an incredible little restaurant.

Greetings Ed, The Wright Gourmet is "Right On" with this recommendation. The name does nothing to tell you about "Teriyaki plus Smoothies" amazingly good Chicken Teriyaki Bowls. We realize that "Teriyaki Bowls" are nothing new, but these are some of the best.

Mr. Wright Gourmet, you are very to the point on this restaurant review. Teriyaki plus Smoothies does give very good service and food is very good. We tried this restaurant because you said it was good.
When I asked the manager if they know you they said they know you, and you come in often. This means that you get better service because you are a food critic. Did they buy advertising also Mr. Wright?

Gracia M; First, please allow me to Thank You for your time in posting your comments on my magazine and acknowledge that you make some very valid points...
Except on the advertising questions. We are sorry to report that we do not accept advertising or coupons from restaurants, and do not plan to do so presently... but you are correct, advertising dollars do seem to color the newspaper and many other reviewer's perspective. (WE HATE IT when that happens!)
Please consider that we do not even request free meals, and typically pay for the meals we review. We make it a point not announce during the meal being reviewed that we write as a food critic... but once again your points are well made.
As far as "Favors" to restaurant owners and managers... we honestly try to treat everybody honestly and fairly, but will admit to being friends with numerous restaurant managers, chefs and owners (WE LOVE IT when that happens)

T+S is great! I get their philly cheesesteak sandwiches all the time! Very friendly service. A great shift from other places serving similar food like China Bowl or Greenhouse that seem more corporate and less friendly. A nice personal touch to Yucaipa.

I want to learn Teriyaki but before that I need to go to this restaurant first.
