Babe's Slim Pig N's opened in Redlands several years ago now, and I recall we first reviewed it (The Wright Gourmet) back in late 2005 “as having over come many of the initial Grand Opening jitters and long waits.” Few of those who reviewed the new establishment seemed to know how to discuss the long wait times and new restaurant commotion that simply occurs when any restaurant first opens, let alone one of this size that was faced with exceptionally high consumer expectations.

We agree with your review of Slim Pig N's; The food has gotten better, and the wait is no where near as bad as at Famous Dave's BBQ. We still think they are a bit too pricey for Redlands, but the service is fantastic and their beer is the best!
Thank You for having the backbone to print what none of the other food critics are willing to say; You are the only truly honest restaurant reviewer in the Inland Empire (and not a bad Loan Officer either). Good Luck with your online magazines; we enjoy reading your stuff and trying out the restaurants you refer. Great Job!

I am not sure if everyone has missed out on the fact that since Famous Dave's BBQ has opened to endless lines but service at Babe's Slim Pig N's has improved and their BBQ is really good also.
The ambiance and service can not be beat at Babe's Slim Pig N's either. It is not as noisy and the staff do not pretend to be "Famous" or sit at your table and try to become your best friends like the waiters at Famous Dave's BBQ.
Also fair to note is the beer is much better at Babe's Slim Pig N's, and everything considered we just enjoy Slim Pig N's way more than all the parking, lines and stupidity Famous Dave's dishes out.
Also, if you have tried both ribs, the ones served at Babe's Slim Pig N's seem to be much meatier; the ones we were served at Famous Dave's BBQ hardly had any meat on them. This might not matter if you are not very hungry, but for what Famous Dave's BBQ charges you would think they would serve a better quality of meat.
For the money it would seem to be an easy decision; Dave might be Famous (for long lines and Flaming "HAPPY" Waiters), but all things considered the BBQ and service is far better at Babe's Slim Pig N's.

The food is just OK. My husband used to work there & they treat their employees like crap. No respect for hard-working employees who are very aware they get paid high wages.
And the BBQ sauce?...you'd be surprised how they make it...ewww!

Tried Babe’s last night after being disappointed from a visit a couple of years ago (should have learned my lesson then). By just reading the menu you can tell these people have no appreciation or knowledge of food let alone cuisine as they state the farmed raised salmon (with color injected) is no different in taste than wild salmon. Give me a break! We ordered a side of asparagus (seven stalks of asparagus drenched in some kind of weird oil for $7) that’s a $1 for each piece. The chicken tamale was doughy and too sweet with creepy leftover tasting chicken. It came with a side of gluey tasteless rice and honestly inedible. The beef tri tip which at first tasted fair, but as I was later to find out, gave me a severe case of food poisoning. My recommendation would be to go over to Famous Dave’s BBQ on the other side of the freeway or check out a Lucille’s at Victoria Gardens or Brea. There’s a reason why these two places have a wait. The food is great, unlike Babe’s.

Good morning. It's the opinion of some that crops could be grown on the moon. Which raises the fear that it may not be long before we're paying somebody not to.
